It’s still January, which means it’s not too late for me to note my goals for the year.
I’m feeling good about the New Year. After all, my horoscope assured that 2023 is a year for being optimistic, exploring creative pursuits, and making new friends.
I hope this prediction turns out to be true for all of us.

Reading Goals:
- Read 30 books. This is my standard goal, it’s do-able and I’m
- Read more print books. I relied on audiobooks a lot in 2022. It was a tough year and I didn’t have a lot of free time or energy for reading. Audiobooks certainly have their good points but I prefer reading print books. I like the way print books require me to be deliberate about reading and to focus only on the activity of reading.
- Read books that are meaningful for me. I‘d like to be more thoughtful about my reading choices this year and do less of the light, escapism reading as I did in 2022.
Writing Goals:
- Write reviews on Goodreads. I’d like to better remember what I’ve read by capturing a few details about the books I’ve read, along with my experience with and feelings about what I’ve read. I hate it when I see I’ve read a book and have no memory of the story.
- Write here on consistent basis. I have this running list in my head of things I want to write about here, yet I’m failing miserable to move those ideas forward. Plus, I’d like to improve my writing by building a writing habit.
Connection Goals:
- Connect with more readers. I’d like to expand my community of fellow readers here, on Goodreads, and in my community.
And you, reader?
