I’m having a tough time getting into the rhythm of writing and posting on a regular basis.
I originally started this blog over a decade ago to keep track of what my bookclub, The Seventeenth Line, was reading. Since re-launching this blog in 2020 I’ve spent most of my time reading through my older posts, all of which I’ve made private, and trying to decide if I should update and repost those older pieces or stick to new, fresh content.
It’s been nice to revisit what I wrote. I’ve been reminded of books I read that I’d forgotten about and it’s brought to mind memories of my time reading with my bookclub.

Reading through old material also reminds me of the lesson I learned in grad school about not always trying to come up with new topics and new ideas to write about, but instead reworking academic papers to hone in on a topic and develop an idea further or look at it from a different perspective.
I don’t necessarily want to ignore all of my past work on this blog but I also know that my take on things might be different now. Certainly the books from that time are not as popular now.
What I’ll likely do is start writing about what I’m currently reading and on occasion feature a post from the past.
I wonder how other bloggers deal with their old material. Is it a one and done situation? Or do you re-work older pieces and repost them?
